Giovanni Grillo is developing the Milan office as Managing Director
INVERTO, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) subsidiary specializing in procurement and supply chain management, has opened an office in Milan. The office is INVERTO’s tenth location, bringing the company’s presence to nine countries across Europe and China. As the new Managing Director, Giovanni Grillo is heading up the office and building the Italian team.
Giovanni Grillo previously worked as a partner and managing director for renowned southern European management consultancies. In his early career, he specialized in the management of complex supply chains and operational excellence. Another focus of his work is digitalization strategies in Procurement.
Born in 1974, Grillo holds degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management Engineering from Ecole Centrale de Paris and Politecnico di Milano, respectively. He completed his education in 2007 with a PDD (Executive Program for General Management) at IESE in Barcelona.
Grillo has extensive experience in the Luxury and Retail, Fast Moving Consumer Goods, pharmaceutical, and process industries. In recent years, he has also specialized in assisting major investment funds in post-merger acquisition projects, always with a view to optimizing direct, indirect and organizational cost structure.
“Giovanni Grillo’s market knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit makes him an excellent fit for us and our philosophy. We look forward to successfully developing our first Southern European location with him,” says Markus Bergauer, Managing Director and co-founder of INVERTO.
The Italian INVERTO team will work closely with BCG’s Milan colleagues and will initially share the office across from the famous Duomo. The goal is to have a consolidated senior team based in Milan by the end of the year. Giovanni Grillo comments: “INVERTO combines high strategic competence with operational capacity to act. I am very pleased to be able to drive this approach forward in Italy in the months ahead.”
