25.09.2020 - Jewson & INVERTO claimed victory in CIPS Excellence in Procurement Award

Jewson won the CIPS Excellence in Procurement Award for the category “Best Procurement Transformation Programme”

To develop and implement the programme, the company partnered with INVERTO, Boston Consulting Group’s procurement subsidiary.

LONDON, 25 September – Jewson, part of the Saint-Gobain Group, is one of the UK’s leading Builder’s Merchants. In 2019 Jewson engaged in a company wide “Transform & Grow” programme redefining its purpose, values and strategy, enhancing customer experience, digitalizing offerings and delivering ambitious savings. To transform the buying function, Jewson partnered with INVERTO, one of Europe’s leading procurement and supply chain management consultancies, and a subsidiary of Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

The Procurement 2020 Programme was a critical part of the company wide transformation process. A dynamic approach using a vast data range, newly digitalized procurement processes and an empowered team, was adopted with the business and supplier base. The buying organisation successfully delivered a step change in P&L performance and customer benefits in a challenging environment. By this, it has created a platform for sustained growth.

„Congratulations to the Jewson Team for winning the CIPS Excellence Award for Best Procurement Transformation Programme. We are very proud to have contributed to shaping the success of the programme“, said Kiran Mazumdar, Managing Director at INVERTO.

Jewson and INVERTO jointly delivered the programme, which closely integrated the capability development of the Jewson team and technology adoption. INVERTO implemented rigorous programme management covering all initiatives to ensure a high pace, business and supplier collaboration, and maximum savings. The programme’s biggest benefit was the achievement of a significant improvement in contribution margin for COGS both for Jewson and the Saint-Gobain Group.

“The Jewson Procurement Programme has been a critical part of our growth strategy. It was underpinned with a clear link to our purpose, values and strategy, supported by distinct communications both with suppliers and internally. INVERTO has been a valuable partner in helping us achieve the desired goal of this programme“, said Mike Newnham, CEO Jewson.
