  • Betroffen sind EU-weit Unternehmen mit über 500 Mitarbeitenden und einem Umsatz von mindestens 150 Millionen Euro. In den als Risikobranchen identifizierten Sektoren Textil, Landwirtschaft und Bergbau gilt die Schwelle von 250 Mitarbeitenden und 40 Millionen Euro.


  • Verhinderung von Menschenrechtsverletzungen und Umweltschädigung entlang der Lieferketten. Zusätzlich sind Unternehmen verpflichtet, einen eigenen Klimafahrplan aufzustellen, um das 1,5-Grad-Ziel zu erreichen.


  • Unternehmen sind für ihre gesamte Lieferkette verantwortlich, dies gilt jedoch nur für längerfristige Geschäftsbeziehungen, nicht für einmalige Bedarfe.


  • Bußgelder und Sanktionen sind vorgesehen, aber noch nicht konkret beziffert. Darüber hinaus soll das Gesetz auch Haftung gegenüber direkt Betroffenen enthalten.
