What’s your story Kilian?

Hello, who are you and what brought you to INVERTO?

My name is Kilian Dötsch, 23 years old or “year of construction 98”, as we say it in my hometown. I grew up in Kobern-Gondorf, a small wine village by the Moselle.

After graduating from high school in Koblenz, I began studying Economics in Würzburg before switching to WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management after less than two semesters, to complete my bachelor’s degree in International Management three years later.

Through various events and activities, I had the opportunity to repeatedly come in contact with INVERTO during my studies- and ultimately also to complete an internship. The topics, the team and also the relaxed but ambitious company culture excited me.

After my bachelor’s degree, I enrolled in a master’s program in Supply Chain Management at Politecnico di Milano to further specialize and gain experience abroad. Since I kept in touch with INVERTO after my internship as part of the Sapphire program, I was given the opportunity to start a full-time job while I was still studying. Until the end of August I will write my master thesis together with INVERTO and then join as a consultant in the Cologne office in September.

What are you doing at INVERTO?

Currently, I support a project in the automotive industry and deal with product group strategies for electronic components, which were developed in joint workshops with the customer. This involves some analyses as well as structured documentation. The aim is to create a summarized document, which covers all important topics around the product group strategy and defines the specific actions for the implementation of the strategy.

Do you have a favorite place?

My favorite place is on the ski slope! Skiing is the perfect vacation for me, a combination of relaxation and physical activity. Being the first on the slope in the morning with a freshly prepared slope – it doesn’t get any better than that.

You found the job of your dreams at INVERTO, of course – if INVERTO wouldn´t exist, what would you have become?

My dream job would be to pursue my hobbies professionally. Whether soccer, tennis or motor sports – here I would not be very picky! Unfortunately, I lack talent (who would have thought it), but maybe someday I’ll find a job in one of the said areas, which matches my qualifications and brings me close to the heart of the action.

If you had to choose, which supernatural power would you like to have?

The supernatural ability of my choice would be (fast) flying. If you can fly, you won’t be stuck in traffic, waiting for trains, or waiting at the airport security checkpoint. Being able to move quickly between different places would save a lot of time, and at the same time create new opportunities for recreation or visiting friends.

Do you have a special ritual at work?

My little ritual in the office takes place right after arriving in the morning. The very first thing, after I drop my things at the workplace, is the way to the coffee machine. Without coffee in the morning not very much works for me. Furthermore, I think it’s important to have a positive ritual in the morning – in my case it’ a good cup of coffee.
