What’s your story Celia?
Please introduce yourself and tell us what brought you to INVERTO?
My name is Celia Rocneanu and I’m originally from Aachen, Germany. After graduating high school, I headed to Freiburg for a while and then to Cologne for my bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in International Business.
I got into management consultancy during my bachelor’s studies when one of my professors asked me whether I wanted to perform process and value flow analyses in small to medium-sized businesses as a self-employed consultant. From day one, I knew I wanted to start my career in consulting. So, I set out to pursue it by doing internships and working jobs in various consultancy firms while I was still studying.
After getting my master’s degree, I applied for jobs at different consultancy firms. I already had a positive impression of INVERTO from my online research, something which the interviews during the application process confirmed, so I was completely convinced that INVERTO was right for me.
What do you do at INVERTO?
After I have worked two and a half years for INVERTO, I just recently have been promoted to project manager. At the moment, I’m supervising two customer projects in the retail sector. Previously, I was involved in lots of projects in industry.
One of my current responsibilities is volume bundling for two product groups at a global company, focusing on sales in Germany, China, and the United States. Our project team is composed of three colleagues, two of whom are based in the Shanghai office, because most suppliers are in China and that’s also where the bulk of negotiations take place.
Do you have any extraordinary secrets to share with us?
I don’t like chocolate. People always ask me, “How can you not like chocolate?!” I really don’t know. That’s just how I am. Usually, I reply by saying something like: “I might eat something chocolatey occasionally, but I prefer licorice or something salty, like salt & vinegar chips.”
If you could pick one superpower to have, what would it be?
Being able to fly. I’d be able to see how beautiful everything looks from above. I’d be incredibly agile and could get anywhere in no time. I wouldn’t need to take the car, plane, or train anymore, and wouldn’t have to sit around in traffic and be late!
Do you have a favorite place?
There’s this lake in Bavaria called Tegernsee that I just love. The scenery, the rich Bavarian food – especially pretzels and Obazda, which is like a seasoned cheese and butter dish – and the sun, which always shines when I’m there.
